A whole...entire wedding!

Yup...I am out of my mind! Photogs, I am posting an entire wedding (minus a few shots out of consideration for the bride). To this day, other than Kathryn Brown and Robert Hill (who I have 2nd shot with a few times), I have never seen another photographer's entire wedding. I have even paid a photographer for a consult and asked if he could bring an entire wedding so that I can see where my work stands...he didn't do it! So I'm doing it...grade yourself (you most likely will score higher)...or for brides to be - you can see that I'm pretty consistent (I hope). Get your dancing shoes...boogie on down to the two and half minute wedding! Enjoy!

Julie & Blake's Wedding!

Yesterday I documented Julie & Blake's wedding day in St. Augustine! I think everyone had a good time...I had a good time...I don't think I've ever witnessed so much dancing!

Thanks to all the vendors for making my day a bit easier.

Church: Cathedral Basilica
Venue: White Room - Shannon is the best!!!
Hair & Make-up: Debbie's Day Spa & Salon
Flowers: Liz Stewart - Good seeing you Tiffany!!!

For photogs...and for everyone...I break my weddings into 3 parts...Preparation (hair, make-up, details, & getting ready)...the Ceremony (plus formals & portraits)...and the Reception. This keeps me sane (joke)...and it preserves a good pace in my mind...it's a psychological thing...but it works to my advantage! So I posted 2 montages..maybe next time I'll post 3...enjoy!

Rani & Jeremy's Wedding!

Let me preface by saying I love the Filipino culture and it's people! They are so vibrant...so positive...and so loving!

Yesterday I documented Rani & Jeremy's wedding...and it was such a pleasure...additionally, they fed me a totally vegan meal...now that's love! The ceremony and reception took place at Club Continental. Despite the heat, we rocked the day pretty darn good. The Faze Band was ridiculously awesome...they kept the dance floor moving! Check out the awesome vendors listed below...and the pictures...which I think tell the story way better than my words!

Enjoy! (Ah...special thanks to my trusty friend, Jerome...and Rachael Shepherd for their helping hands.)

Erin & Matt's Wedding!

This past weekend was super busy...and I wrapped it up with Erin & Matt's wedding! They had an awesome Sunday wedding at the Garden Club of Jacksonville that incorporated a few Jewish traditions. And as you can tell from the montage below, everyone was living it up and having a good time!

Hair & Make-up: Beauty Lounge: 904-387-7850
Wedding Planner: Tanya of Southern Charm Event Planning
Florist: Susan of A Fantasy in Flowers
And as more often than not...thank you again to my friend, Jerome, for assisting!

Enjoy!
Photogs: I lit the reception hall with 3 Nikon strobes mounted on light stands. When I light up a venue, it always depends on how the room is set up (you want your lights out of the way)...typically I shoot with 2 strobes on stands...but this place is pretty big! So Jerome and I created a "triangle like" lighting scheme. Each strobe was pointed at a 45 degree angle towards the center of the room. Now it's up to you to capture people partying and having fun!

Me+Our Labor of Love=Goodness!

Last year...that sounds like a long time ago! Anyway...last year in November 2009...like 2 months ago, I got to help out Our Labor of Love.

I've said this before...and I'll say it again...I highly recommend 2nd or 3rd shooting every once in a while...yes, even if you are an established photographer. You can never learn enough. Every time I assist someone, I take something with me to one of my gigs...and it also teaches humility...so if you ever get kind of big headed and start treating your assistant/2nd shooter like a second class citizen...reflect on your time assisting...remember how well that person treated you...or how awful they treated you.

In my case, Jesse and Whit treated me very nicely. They let me do my thing...they didn't require that I shoot only at f5.6...or not to surpass 1000 ISO...or shoot with only one kind of lens. They were also courteous and prepared to offer me their memory cards (this makes getting images to the person you are assisting much easier). They even had enough Pocket Wizards to loan me one for the night...which was nice, b/c I don't use PWs. They were well prepared!

Thank you Jesse and Whit...I had a lot of fun hanging out with you two!

Brianna & Matt's Wedding at the Ribault Club. Enjoy!

This is the effect of Whit's lighting capabilities...it causes sporadic moments of light worshipping among the lady guests!
Is it effect or affect?

Helping out...

Last weekend I had the opportunity to help out Corinna Hoffman with Mindy & Josh's wedding. The wedding took place in Palatka...at Rodeheaver Boys' Ranch...the reception was at the Woman's Club of Palatka. The weather was near perfect, despite everywhere else in NE Florida was a experiencing a minor monsoon!

It's really cool to help out with weddings...I stated this before...but it's nice going into a wedding knowing that all the pressure is on someone else (Corinna!)...this really let's you just focus on shooting...capturing really good moments...and not worrying about timelines or those certain must get shots...I need to approach my weddings this way...I wonder who I can put all the pressure on...Jerome, you out there!

Here's a few shots from Mindy's & Josh's awesome wedding...note the formal shot...I think this is the 1st time I posted a formal shot...it's just proof for you all out there that I do them...and that I can do them pretty well...
